Lana Dougherty
Meet Lana Dougherty at Moore's of RiversideLana Dougherty has been associated with Moore’s of Riverside for nearly two years, both teaching and now working in the store. She has been sewing/quilting for 40 years and has been actively involved in the quilting industry for past 13 years, working in local quilt shops and teaching quilting related classes. She’ll tell you that “you meet the nicest people in quilt shop” and that now includes Moore’s, where you’ll find a wonderful selection of “quilt-shop quality” fabrics and supplies.
Lana is a “California girl”, having been born and raised in Southern California. She has been married for 33 years, and has two grown daughters, and an 18-month old grandson that she loves to talk about. Her past fields of employment include the banking industry, managing the family’s trucking company, and working in retail. She loves working with money, numbers, and fabric – and has found all of that in this industry.
Lana is noted for her kind and patient manner in dealing with her students. She believes that quilting should not be stressful, but a form of fun and relaxation. She is actively involved in her local quilt guild and has held several positions including Second Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Chairperson, and this year will be Quilt Show Chairperson for the 4th consecutive time. To say that sewing and quilting is a big part of her life would be an understatement!
