Janome M17 Embroidery Quilting Class

Class Overview

Come learn about your new Janome M17 in this unique class. Michele Rank will teach you about your M17 while you are making a small quilt during this 2 day event. Basic Machine Features, Sewing, Quilting Techniques and Machine Embroidery will all be a focus during class. You will come away from class with a clear understanding of all the potential and how to use your M17 to create. In addition you will learn how to use the AccuSetter App from Janome. Please plan on having your IPad or tablet, loaded with this app and ready to go for class on the second day.
Class Details
This is a two-day event. Attendees must bring their own Janome M17. Lunch will be provided for both days. Price for the two-day event: $50 for customers who purchased their Janome M17 from Moore’s. $199 if they purchased it elsewhere. Supply list required (see below).

Supplies List
- White or Neutral Quilting Thread
- Embroidery Thread to Match Fabrics Selected. In the sample Green was used.
- Pre-Wound Embroidery bobbin & empty bobbin for sewing with quilting thread.
- Janome Sewing Needles – Red Tip for Embroidery & Blue Tip for Sewing
- Square Up Ruler 16×16 or a really large Square Ruler
- 505 Spray or Free Fuse for Basting the Quilt
- Bring your tool case to class with all feet and accessories.
- Quilting Embroidery Hoop Needed ASQ27D
- All the Magnets for the Quilting Hoop.
- Your personal IPad or Tablet loaded & installed with the AcuSetter App from Janome all ready to go.
Fabric List
Please refer to the picture when picking your fabrics. Fabric selection is important so the machine embroidery is the star of the mini quilt. Only 5 fabrics are needed, plus batting. From the outside in the they are listed as Border Fabric, Sashing and Corner Stones, Center Blocks & the last fabric is the backing Fabric. It is important to have all fabrics cut before the class starts. The class will focus on your machine abilities, and we want to make the most of our class time.
- Center Blocks: Qty 4 – cut 11″x11″ (White or Very Light Colored Fabric)
- Sashing: Qty 12 – cut 3″ x 11″ (Small Floral Print)
- Corner Stones: Qty 9 – cut 3″x3″ (Accent Fabric)
- Border Fabric: Qty 4 – cut 2½” x WOF (Fabric That Accents Floral Fabric)
- Binding: Qty 3 – cut 2½” x WOF (Same Fabric As Corner Stones)
- Batting: Qty 1 – cut 34″x34″, cotton batting
- Backing: Qty 1 – cut 34″x34″, backing fabric
