Sewing Class Navigation

Learn how your sewing machine can do more for you!

In this 6 part series we will be learning how to use a plethora of different accessory feet to help you master tricky techniques and get professional results. Accessory feet help you to construct, decorate and finish your garment, home decor, craft and quilting projects. You will learn how to use feet to help you conquer zippers, piping, pintucks, beading, specialty materials, bias binding, fringe, hemming, gathering, decorative stitches, quilt piecing, free-motion quilting, and much Moore!

Each class will focus on 3-4 different accessory feet and the techniques they allow you to accomplish. You can take the classes in any order! All machine brands are welcome!

Prerequisite:  Basic operation of your machine: you can wind a bobbin, thread machine, navigate stitches and change basic settings i.e. stitch length and width.

Class 5: Piping and Cording

  • 3, 5 and 7-Cord Cording Feet
  • 4-6mm and 7-8mm Double Cording Feet
  • Mini Piping foot
  • Pearl and Piping Foot
  • Piping Foot – Left

Once you see how easy it is to attach cording and piping with these feet, you’ll want to add it to every project. Give a custom finish to garments or curtains with Venetian or Parisian hemstitching with the 3, 5, or 7 cord cording feet. The double cording feet can be used to attach piping or double welting cord for a profession finish on your home decor projects, like upholstery. Attach mini piping cord to add a specialty finish to your tiniest projects like doll and infant clothes with the mini piping foot. The Pearl and Piping foot will help you adorn your project with beads and pearls. Make your own custom piping that will add the perfect pop of color to set-off your project or for a twist, sew bulky seams found in knitwear.
