Join us at this two day hands-on event (one day option!) at Moore’s of Brea and take your appliqué to the next level! Get more dimension and greater coverage, without increasing the stitch density – you’ll get softer, more wearable embroidery! Brother’s Scan N Cut is the perfect companion for any embroidery machine! In this hands-on seminar Cathy and Coleen will show you how much easier appliqué is when you don’t have to cut your fabric pieces out the old-fashioned way! Learn techniques for in-the-hoop projects, design placement and even using some of the more advanced design functions found in today’s embroidery machines! Cathy Brown, host of Sewing Tech Talk with Cathy and Coleen Swettman, Brother’s National Educator, have traveled the country teaching the best practices in embroidery for the past 20 years – now enjoy learning from BOTH of these experts at the same time at Moore’s of Brea! Together they’ve created this 2-day hands on workshop that will take your embroidery experience to the next level – regardless of what machine you own or your own skill level!

Coleen Swettman
My love of sewing has grown since 7th grade Home ec Class. I went on to make all my own clothes, wedding gown, baby clothes, learned quilting and then embroidery entered the sewing world. It was love at first sight. I was hooked by the way it could enhance a garment/quilt to a whole new level in such a short time. And now we can quilt with our embroidery! I started teaching sewing and embroidery in the ‘90’s for George’s father at a location in Vancouver Washington. Then for several years, I worked with George demonstrating machines at the Orange County Fair. After that an opportunity to teach and train with Brother machines was offered. I love demonstrating, teaching, and working with our wonderful guests, during classes, shows and dealer events. There are so many super people in our sewing world!
Cathy Brown
Cathy Brown’s grandmother showed her how to sew over fifty years ago and she hasn’t stopped sewing, quilting and doing anything involving needle and thread since. Currently Cathy presents Sewing Tech Talk hosted by Moore’s Sewing on YouTube and Facebook and covers a variety of topics and machines. Cathy was a National Educator for BabyLock Sewing and traveled the country inspiring consumers at retail locations and national conventions. She trained retailers at the BabyLock National Convention and online. Cathy loves to find and share creative ways to use all the amazing sewing machines and crafting technologies available to today’s consumer!
